APPOINTMENT AFTERCARE

Adhering to your appointment's aftercare instructions is crucial for optimal colour retention during the healing phase. Your post-treatment care will determine your treatment success.
It can take up to 6 weeks after your treatment to see your final results. Cosmetic tattoo is a two-step process. A perfection visit is scheduled 4-8 weeks after your first visit and this is essential for a complete treatment. Any loss of pigment or patchiness is normal and will be tweaked at the Perfection Visit.
  • Ombre Brows 10 days of aftercare:

    • Do not get your healing tattoo wet for 10 days after your treatment.

    • Do not touch the treated area as it is an open wound.

    • No swimming, spas, saunas or excessively hot steamy showers.

    • Do not perform strenuous exercise or activities that cause excessive sweating as this will cause the pigment to be pushed out of the skin, leaving you with patchy results.

Days 1-2 Gently wipe your brows with a damp cotton round or unscented baby wipe to remove any excess lymph (clear fluid). Repeat this process every 2-3 hours during this period. This will prevent the formation of scabs.

Days 3-10 After the initial 48 hours you will need to apply a tiny amount of your aftercare ointment (given to you during your appointment) with a clean cotton tip morning and night. You may gently wipe away any old ointment with an unscented makeup or baby wipe first before reapplying.

Do not put anything else on your brows for 10 days. This includes moisturisers, makeup, oils and sunscreen as this can remove pigment and or could change the pigment tone.

Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks. Wear a hat when outdoors.

  • • It is normal to feel a slight tenderness and dryness in the treated area for the first 1-2 days.

    • On days 5-10 exfoliation will take place. The top layer of the skin will flake off, leaving a much lighter colour underneath.

    • Itching is normal, do not pick or scratch your flaking brows as this will pull chunks of pigment off leaving patchy results.

    • After shedding, your brows will initially appear lighter as the skin continues to heal. The colour will slowly return to a soft, healed result over the following weeks.

    • After your brows have finished shedding, you can resume your normal routine, including wearing brow makeup if needed until colour returns.

  • Lip Blush 5 days of aftercare:

    • Do not touch the treated area as it is an open wound.

    • No excessive sweating or heat for 5 days. This includes spas, saunas or excessively hot steamy showers.

    • Refrain from eating spicy foods for the first 2 days.

    • For 5 days you are required to keep your lips extremely moisturised with cream provided. This will minimise any scabbing and itching.

    • You may wipe your lips clean with a damp cotton round prior to each application of the cream.

    • Do not put anything else on your lips for 5 days. This includes moisturisers, makeup, oils and sunscreen as this can remove pigment and or could change the pigment tone.

    • After this 5-day period, you may cease applying cream and resume your normal routine. You are welcome to wear makeup to cover any unevenness or patchiness until your touch-up appointment.

    • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks and wear sunscreen to protect your tattoo.

    • If you have the Herpes Simplex Virus (cold sores) it is essential to take an anti-viral medication such as Zovirax 5 days before, then the day of, and then 5 days after your treatment.

  • • Immediately after your treatment, your lips may present mild swelling and the colour will appear extremely bold for the first few days.

    • On days 2-3 your lips will begin to peel or flake. Do not pick any shedding skin let it fall off naturally.

    • Immediately after shedding the colour will appear extremely light but will then return to a soft healed result over the following weeks.

    • Depending on your lips and how well you have followed your aftercare, slight patchiness is normal and will be perfected at your touch-up appointment.

  • • Apply SPF-50 daily to your healed cosmetic tattoo. Sun exposure over a prolonged period of time will fade the tattoo.

    • Do not use strong chemical acids/ peels (salicylic, glycolic, lactic acids), IPL, laser or microdermabrasion on the healed cosmetic tattoo, as these will fade the tattoo over time.

    • Avoid skin care that contains Vitamin A, Retinol, AHA, near the treatment areas as this will strip the colour.
